UFC Fight Night 113 medical suspensions: Gunnar Nelson out 45 days after KO loss

Welterweight contender Gunnar Nelson was among 11 fighters who received an extended medical suspension in the aftermath of UFC Fight Night 113, according to information released Wednesday by the UFC, which served as the sanctioning body for the Glasgow event. MMA Junkie first reported the suspensions.

Nelson suffered a controversial first-round knockout loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio in a foul-laden contest in the night’s main event. As a result, Nelson will be forced to sit out a minimum of 45 days before returning to active competition.

The 10 other fighters who received extended medical suspensions aside from Nelson were: Justin Willis (180 days), Neil Seery (180 days), Daniel Teymur (180 days), Brett Johns (180 days), Amanda Lemos (180 days), Stevie Ray (60 days), Paul Craig (60 days), Charlie Ward (60 days), James Mulheron (45 days), and Bobby Nash (45 days).

UFC Fight Night: Nelson vs. Ponzinibbio took place July 16 at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The night’s main card aired live on FOX Sports 1.
