The fan was asking for it. No, really.
Khabib Nurmagomedov punched a fan square in the gut — pretty hard, too — after the fan asked Nurmagomedov to do it. The UFC lightweight star posted the video from Tajikistan on his Instagram page.
“This is not my job,” Nurmagomedov wrote. “Crazy Fan.”
Nurmagomedov connected with a right hand to the body and the fan staggered back for a moment and then collapsed to the ground. The crowd gathered around all clapped. Then, the fan got up and gave Nurmagomedov a hug.
Soon, the undefeated Nurmagomedov (24-0) will have actual UFC fighters to punch. He plans on returning to the Octagon this fall, but an opponent has yet to be determined. Nurmagomedov, 28, was supposed to fight for the interim lightweight title against Tony Ferguson at UFC 209 in March, but withdrew from the fight the day before after being hospitalized due to a bad weight cut.
Nurmagomedov is a perfect 8-0 in the UFC and has been mostly dominant. There has been talk that Conor McGregor is interested in fighting him in his home country of Russia for McGregor’s UFC title.
