Doo Ho Choi is out of the UFC’s upcoming show in Anaheim due to an injury, and the promotion signed Calvin Kattar to take on Andre Fili on July 29. MMA Today first reported the news.
Kattar (16-2) enters the Octagon for the first time after winning eight in a row on the local circuit. Six of those wins took place between 2010 and 2013, before he returned to action in 2016 to add another pair of wins to his record.
Fili (16-4) hasn’t fought since October, when he defeated Hacran Dias via unanimous decision. The Team Alpha Male talent has bounced between wins and losses since signing with the UFC in 2013.
UFC 214 takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., and features three title fights in the pay-per-view portion of the card: Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones, Tyron Woodley vs. Demian Maia, and Cris Cyborg vs. Tonya Evinger.
