Two new bouts complete Invicta FC 24

Esther Lin, Invicta FC

Invicta FC 24 is finally complete with two new bouts.

Pam Sorenson will be stepping in on short notice to take on Helena Kolesnyk in a featherweight bout, while Miranda Maverick and Gaby Romero will battle in a stawweight contest on July 15. The promotion announced the new additions on Friday.

Kolesnyk was originally scheduled to challenge featherweight champion Megan Anderson for title, but Anderson was pulled from the card to fight Cris ‘Cyborg’ at UFC 214, leaving Kolesnyk without an opponent until now. This fight with Sorenson will mark Kolesnyk’s Invicta FC debut. Kolesnyk, who’s considered one of the top female featherweights on planet, is 5-0 and 1 no contest in her fighting career, while her opponent Sorenson is 5-2.

Additionally, Ashley Cummins (5-3) vs. former atomweight contender Jinh Yu Frey (5-2) has been promoted to the co-main event of the card. The original co-main event between bantamweight contender Raquel Pa'aluhi (6-5) and recent title challenger Yana Kunitskaya (9-3, 1 NC) has been rescheduled for August due to an injury sustained by Kunitskaya.

Invicta FC 24 is set to take place at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo. Below is the complete eight-fight event, which will be headlined by Milana Dudieva vs. Mara Romero Borella:
