At UFC 179 on Oct. 25, 2014, Jose Aldo successfully defended his featherweight title in a rematch against Chad Mendes. The victory over Mendes marked Aldo’s sixth title defense in the UFC. Aldo went on to lose the belt to Conor McGregor in his following fight, but then he later picked up the interim featherweight title by outpointing Frankie Edgar. He was later promoted to the undisputed champion.
Now, Aldo will be taking on interim featherweight champion Max Holloway in title unification bout at UFC 212. This event is set to go down on Saturday at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
