At UFC 190 on Aug. 1, 2015, top strawweight contender Claudia Gadelha took on UFC newcomer and women’s MMA veteran Jessica Aguilar in the opening of the pay-per-view main card. That night, Gadelha picked up another win in the UFC women’s strawweight division, outpointing Aguilar in a unanimous decision.
Almost two years later and having challenged for the belt, Gadelha will be looking to get back in title contention by taking on Karolina Kowalkiewicz in the co-main event of UFC 212. This event, which will be headlined by a featherweight title unification bout between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway, is set to take place on Saturday at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
