Floyd Mayweather may be 40 years old, but he still looks pretty good at this whole boxing thing.
Referring to himself as an “old legend,” likely in response to Conor McGregor’s constant barbs at his age, Mayweather showcased his speed and precision in a training clip posted Thursday to Instagram. In it, Mayweather batters a double end bag while working angles under the supervision of trainers inside his Mayweather Boxing Gym in Las Vegas, Nev.
“I know I'm not the same fighter I was 20 years ago,” Mayweather wrote. “I'm not the same fighter I was 10 years ago... As a matter of fact, I'm not the same fighter I was 5 years ago, I'm just an old legend putting in work in 16 oz gloves.”
Mayweather is slated to meet McGregor in a blockbuster boxing match on Aug. 26. The fight will likely be one of the most lucrative clashes in combat sports history.
