NEW YORK – This is the Bellator NYC live blog for Michael Chandler vs. Brent Primus, a lightweight bout at Saturday night's Bellator event at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Chandler, who has won four of his past five fights, will square off against Primus, who is 7-0 in his career, in a lightweight title fight.

Check out the Bellator NYC live blog below.

Round 1: Third title fight of the night. This one for the lightweight crown. Todd Anderson is the referee for this one. They got their instructions, and both were sportsmen — they touched gloves affectionately. Chandler to center, and Primus rolling. He tries a high kick, and now a leg kick that connects to Chandler’s shin. Largely checked. Switching stances is Chandler, Chandler is favoring his leg. He was down for a minute, and he’ can’t stand properly. Primus knows something’s up. Left ankle can’t take any weight. Chandler just wobbled on it. Chandler lands a shot that drops Primus, and he goes in for the kill, but his ankle won’t support him. Ref calls for time. Wow! Chandler shaking his head. It’s over. Ref calls it off, even though Chandler was calling for the crowd to support him. Primus lets out a huge scream. Coker looks disgusted.

Bellator NYC official results: Brent Primus def. Michael Chandler via TKO (doctor stoppage) at 2:22 of R1
