The first card of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series has been revealed.
The new UFC show, which is set to premiere live on UFC Fight Pass on July 11, is now complete with five professional bouts. The promotion announced the match-ups on Thursday. Headlining the card is a featherweight bout between former UFC fighter Kurt Holobaugh and former Bellator fighter Matt Bessette.
Holobaugh is coming off a knockout win over veteran fighter Gesias Cavalcante at back in May at Titan FC 44, which extended his win streak to three in a row. Holobaugh is currently 17-4 as a professional fighter, and is 8-2 since his release from the UFC back in 2013. Meanhile, Bessette, a CES featherweight champion, is 22-7 in his MMA career and has remained undefeated in his last seven outings. The 32-year-old fought nine times under the Bellator banner where he compiled a 7-2 record with a notable win over former UFC fighter Diego Nunes.
