Tecia Torres will be stepping in the Octagon very soon.
The strawweight fighter will serve as a replacement for Amanda Ribas and will now take on Juliana Lima in the UFC Fight Pass portion of The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale, which is set to go down on July 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The news was first reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Tuesday and was later confirmed by MMA Fighting.
Ribas, who was set to make her UFC debut, was pulled from the card by USADA for a potential doping violation from a sample collected on June 7.
With only a couple of weeks notice, Torres will be attempting to build off her unanimous decision win over Bec Rawlings back at UFC Fight Night 104 earlier this year. Torres is currently 8-1 in her professional MMA career, and 4-1 in the UFC. Meanwhile, Lima is coming off a decision win over JJ Aldrich back in December and will be looking to improve her 9-3 record.
The TUF 25 card is set to be headlined by lightweights Michael Johnson and Justin Gaethje.
