Bethe Correia releases statement following KO loss to Holly Holm

MMA: UFC Fight Night-Correia vs Holm David McIntyre-USA TODAY Sports

A day after suffering the second knockout loss of her MMA career in the main event of UFC Fight Night 111 in Singapore, Bethe Correia has opened up.

A one-time bantamweight title contender in the UFC, the Brazilian lost to former champion Holly Holm in the third round, and promised to return stronger than ever in a statement she post on her social media on Sunday.

Check Correia’s statement below.

I want to congratulate Holly for the fight. Even though she was coming from three losses she didn't quit and hide, and fought me on the main event. I want to thank all my fans, partners and team. I won't return with the victory I dreamed of, but I return with my head held high with a dream to fight in Asia realized and being a protagonist of the night. A dream a lot of people have but never realized.

I can only say this to my fans that like Bethe Correia: I WILL BE BACK STRONGER THAN EVER! YOU CAN BE SURE OF IT!!!!! #betheeffect #strongwoman #ufcsingapore

Holm (11-3) snapped a three-fight losing streak in Singapore, scoring her first win since the shocking upset over Ronda Rousey in 2015. Correia (10-3-1), on the other hand, is now winless in back-to-back fights after fighting to a draw with Marion Reneau earlier this year.
