Rashad Evans will be attempting to get his first win in the middleweight division once again.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion will be taking on Sam Alvey at UFC Fight Night 114. The news was announced on Thursday by UFC Español.
Evans was last seen in the Octagon earlier this year at UFC 209, where he lost a split decision to Daniel Kelly in his middleweight debut. Evans is currently on a three-fight losing streak, and is 2-5 in his past seven bouts. Meanwhile, Alvey, who is No. 14 in the middleweight rankings, is coming off a loss to Thales Leites on April that snapped a four-fight win streak.
UFC Fight Night 114 is set to take place on Aug. 5 at Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City. Top flyweight contenders Brandon Moreno and Sergio Pettis will headline the card.
