Brace yourselves. There’s about to be another Conor McGregor running around.
Conor McGregor and his longtime girlfriend Dee Devlin became parents Friday, McGregor confirmed Sunday on social after multiple reports. Devlin gave birth to a boy, who they named Conor Jr..
“Dee and Junior are doing great everyone!” McGregor wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for all the kind words, I am one proud and blessed Daddy.”
An Instagram has already been setup for the baby — and it’s already been verified. As of Sunday morning, it had more than 40,000 followers without even a single photo posted yet.
McGregor, the UFC lightweight champion, first mentioned he was going to be a father after knocking out Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 last November. At the time, McGregor wasn’t sure if the baby would be born in March or May.
“I’m crapping me jocks, I’m not going to lie,” McGregor said at the time. “I don’t even know what way to take it. It’s messing with me head because I don’t want to be bringing a child into this. I don’t even want to do the celebrity type sh*t. I hate all that. I don’t want my family to be like that.”
McGregor has been taking some time off from fighting to be with his family, saying he was going to wait to fight again until after Devlin gave birth. With Conor Jr. coming into the world, that opens the door for McGregor to return to the Octagon or make a beeline for the boxing ring against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
