Thiago Santos vs. Gerald Meerschaert added to UFC 213

A middleweight clash between Thiago Santos and Gerald Meerschaert was booked for UFC 213 in Las Vegas, sources told MMA Fighting following a report by Combate.

UFC 213 is scheduled for July 8 at the T-Mobile Arena as part of the promotion's International Fight Week.

Santos (14-5) returns to action less than five months after scoring a vicious knockout over Jack Marshman at UFC Fight Night 105. “Marreta" has competed twice for International Fight Week events, losing to Uriah Hall (2014) and Gegard Mousasi (2016).

The Brazilian won four straight between those bouts, including first-round knockouts over Andy Enz and Steve Bosse.

Meerschaert (26-8), on the other hand, enters the fight coming off seven wins in a row, capped off by a 94-second submission over Ryan Janes in February. In his Octagon debut, "GM3" tapped Joe Gigliotti in the opening round.
