Stefan Struve vs. Alexander Volkov headlines UFC event in Rotterdam

Stefan Struve and Alexander Volkov will headline UFC’s second trip to Rotterdam, Netherlands, on Sept. 2, the promotion announced Saturday.

The UFC Fight Night card takes place at the Ahoy Rotterdam Arena, the same venue that Struve scored the fastest win of his MMA career, a 15-second knockout over Antonio Silva in May 2016.

Struve (28-8) went 2-0 last year, submitting Daniel Omielanczuk with a brabo choke in October. “Skyscraper" was scheduled to return to action in a rematch with Junior dos Santos in February, but was forced out of the UFC Fight Night 105 main event bout due to a shoulder injury.

Volkov (28-6) is still undefeated under the UFC banner with decision wins over Roy Nelson and Timothy Johnson. A former champion in Bellator and M-1, the Russian heavyweight defeated the likes of Ricco Rodriguez, Brett Rogers, Vinicius Queiroz and Blagoi Ivanov throughout his MMA career.
