This is the Promotional Malpractice Live Chat.
UFC 211 is in the books and what a mostly good event it was. Stipe Miocic and Joanna Jedrzejczyk made their own history, Frankie Edgar ran over Yair Rodriguez and Demian Maia got past Jorge Masvidal. The latter two fights are significant in their own right because it feels like they denied the UFC their first preference in matchmaking. As for Maia, it's not clear what's going to happen to him. Will he get a title shot? He's supposed to, but the UFC needs the welterweight division for potentially bigger fights and as long as that's the case, it's an uphill battle.
Then there's Georges St-Pierre. Is he going to fight Michael Bisping or not? Seems like no, but all the parties still seem confused as to the certainty of it. Just this morning, Firas Zahabi is telling journalists the only fights GSP should entertain are Michael Bisping and Conor McGregor. Good luck with that, I suppose.
Zahabi is in England for Bellator 179, which has a peach of a fight at the top of it in Rory MacDonald vs. Paul Daley. MacDonald seems refreshed and ready to go, which should be interested. The card itself has fallen apart and is not good, but it'll be very interesting to see how MacDonald looks in his Bellator debut.
