Paulo Thiago, William Macario highlight Fight 2 Night 2 card in Brazil

Fight 2 Night officials have announced the complete card for its second edition, scheduled for April 28 in Foz do Iguacu, Brazil, on April 28, and the list of names is a mix of UFC veterans and Brazilian prospects.

Headlined by Luiz Cane vs. Matt Hamill, a light heavyweight clash announced earlier this week, Fight 2 Night 2 will feature longtime UFC veteran Paulo Thiago taking on 11-3 middleweight Faycal Hucin in the co-main event. Hucin enters the bout riding a four-fight winning streak.

Ericka Almeida (7-2), who competed twice under the UFC banner in 2015, will compete for the first since leaving the Octagon against unbeaten strawweight Virna Jandiroba (10-0).

Akihiro Gono will also make his 64th walk to the cage in Foz do Iguacu, as the former UFC and PRIDE fighter meets undefeated Brazilian lightweight Killys Mota (10-0). The other match-ups announced are Jhonata Silva (4-1) vs. Victor Carvalho (3-0) and Marina Alcalde (6-0) vs. Samara Santos (10-2-1).

Fight 2 Night 2 also include the first round of the welterweight grand prix. TUF Brazil finalist William Macario (8-3) will be joined by Luiz Cado (12-5-1), Matias Juarez (8-1-1), Edi de Castro (3-0-1), Junior Orgulho (13-4), Jorge La Terra (7-4) and Junior Marques (7-0).

Rising prospect Handesson Ferreira (9-0) was forced out of the tournament due to contract obligations, and the promotion is seeking the eight name for the grand prix. The tournament bracket will be set after the official weigh-in.
