Longtime UFC middleweight contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza was one of four fighters to receive a noteworthy medical suspension in the aftermath of UFC on FOX 24, according to information released Monday by the Missouri Office of Athletics.

Souza lost to Robert Whittaker in stunning fashion via second-round knockout on the night’s main card. As a result of damage sustained in the contest, he will be forced to sit out 30 days at the behest of the Missouri commission.

The other three fighters who received similar post-fight suspensions were: Andrew Sanchez (90 days), Patrick Williams (30 days), and Nate Coy (30 days).

UFC on FOX 24 took place April 15 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The night’s main card aired live on FOX.
