A slew of matchups, including the main event, have been named for Invicta FC 23.
A flyweight contenders bout between Vanessa Porto (18-7) and Agnieszka Niedzwiedz (9-0) will headline the card on May 20 at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo.
This marks the return to action for the Brazilian Porto after losing a decision to current Invicta flyweight champ Jennifer Maia in March, 2016. Prior to that, she had won three straight fights. Niedzwiedz, meanwhile, is a 22-year-old from Katowice, Poland, with seven finishes among her nine wins. This will mark her second Invicta appearance.
The evening’s co-feature bout, another flyweight matchup, features a pair of names familiar to longtime fans, as veterans Roxanne Modaffieri (20-13) and Sarah D’Alelio (11-6) square off. The Las Vegas-based Modaffieri has won four out of her past six fights, with her last bout a split-decision loss to Maia in September. Olympia, Wash.’s D’Alelio has won four in a row, with three of those coming by way of submission.
Also announced for Invicta FC 23 were Herica Tiburcio (10-4) vs. Tessa Simpson (5-1) in an atomweight matchup; Elizabeth Phillips (6-5) vs. Kelly Faszholz (3-2); flyweights Andrea Lee (6-2) vs. Liz Tracy (3-1; and strawweights Tiffany Van Soest (0-1) vs. Christine Ferea (0-0).
