Marlon Moraes is off to the UFC.
Moraes is expected to fight Raphael Assuncao in his promotional debut at UFC 212 on June 3 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, MMA Fighting has learned.
Moraes (18-4-1), the former World Series of Fighting bantamweight champion, recently agreed to terms on a new deal with the UFC after his WSOF contract expired late last year. The 28-year-old Brazilian has won his last 13 fights in a row and was considered the best bantamweight not signed by the UFC for the last couple years.
Assuncao (24-5) has won eight of his last nine fights. The perennial Brazilian contender most recently defeated Aljamain Sterling via split decision in January.
The event, headlined by Jose Aldo vs. Max Holloway for the featherweight title, will take place at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio.
