World Series of Fighting has to shuffle one of three title fights on its next card.
Timur Valiev is injured and out of his fight against Bekbulat Magomedov for the vacant WSOF bantamweight title at WSOF 35 on March 18 in Verona, N.Y., the promotion announced Tuesday. Former top flyweight contender Donavon Frelow will replace Valiev.
The WSOF bantamweight title was recently vacated by Marlon Moraes, who is a free agent and is expected to sign with the UFC.
Frelow (6-1) is coming off a split-decision win over Zeke Enrique under the Gladiator Challenge banner last month. He fell to Magomed Bibulatov in a WSOF flyweight title fight via unanimous decision in October 2015. Frelow won five straight with four submissions before that defeat.
Magomedov (17-1) beat Jesse Brock via unanimous decision back in October to earn a shot at the belt. The Dagestan native has just one career loss, by split decision to Josh Hill. Magomedov, 26, has 11 finishes in 17 career wins.
WSOF 35 is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion Blagoy Ivanov and challenger Shawn Jordan, a UFC veteran. In the co-main event, WSOF featherweight champion Lance Palmer will defend his title against Andre Harrison.
