Bryan Barberena is headed to Nashville for his next fight.
The UFC announced on Friday that “Bam Bam” is set to take on Joe Proctor in a welterweight bout at Nashville’s UFC Fight Night 106. The fight card takes place at the Bridgestone Arena on April 22.
Barberena (12-4) moved to welterweight after going 1-1 in his first UFC bouts at 155 pounds, and defeated Sage Northcutt and Warlley Alves in 2016. “Bam Bam” looks to bounce back after losing to Colby Covington via decision in his last fight.
Proctor (11-4) has gone 4-3 under the UFC banner since competing on the 15th season of The Ultimate Fighter in 2012, scoring victories over Cristiano Marcello, Justin Salas and Justin Edwards. He hasn’t competed since Dec. 2015, when he lost to Magomed Mustafaev.
UFC Fight Night 106 will be headlined by Cub Swanson vs. Artem Lobov. In the co-main event, Al Iaquinta takes on Diego Sanchez.
(Editor’s note: The UFC first announced it as a lightweight fight, but Barberena has tweeted it’s a welterweight fight.)
