Combate Americas makes will make its return to the United States, and its debut in Tucson, Arizona, on April 20, MMAFighting.com has learned.
Roman Salazar will meet Ricky Palacios in the evening’s bantamweight main event for the Latin American-themed promotion’s event at Casino del Sol. Kobe Ortiz will square off with Eddie Arizmendi in the middleweight co-feature bout.
UFC vet Salazar (10-5, 1 NC), of Scottsdale, Ariz., is looking for his second consecutive win since leaving the UFC. Palacios (7-1), of Mission, Texas, has won four fights in a row.
Power MMA’s Ortiz, a Bellator vet brings a 15-5 record into the fight, with two straight finishes. Arizmendi (16-6), a Tucson native, fights for the first time since Oct. 2015 and seeks his second straight victory.
Additionally, Phoenix welterweight Benny Madrid (9-3) will appear on the card, against an opponent to be named. The card airs live in the U.S. on the Spanish-language Azteca America at 10 p.m. ET.
