Round 1: The referee for this lightweight bout is Osiris Maia. They touch gloves. Dariush with a high kick right off the bat, and then Barboza lands a short combo. Wow, Barboza stands his ground and lands a couple of big shots in the middle, hard shots. No-nonsense stuff there. Dariush still active, too, as he lands a kick and now he pivots as Barboza gets on his bike. High kick again from Dariush, and Barboza clamps down on his mouthpiece and lands a combo. Head kick from Barboza is blocked but still wobbled Dariush, Thai clinch here from Dariush, and he can't get anything from it. Body kick from Dariush. Barboza a moving target, just constant movement until he unleashes — then he's a single-focused assassin. Dariush doing a fine job countering on the aggressive moments, and that's giving Barboza perhaps a little more pause. It's Dariush with a sequence where he lands up top, and then he slams another heavy leg kick home. Man, both guys just trying to flatten the other with these punches. Barboza again planted and threw big shots. Dariush is more than holding his ground. He's returning fire and landing kicks. Left hand from Dariush, and it was blocked for the most part. Straight high kick from Barboza, misses, but Barboza goes to the body instead. That one had to have hurt. Dariush takes another one, and he lands a spinning left hand as the round ends. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Dariush, 10-9.

Round 2: Dariush was very attentive to Raphael Cordeiro between rounds. Very poised fighters. He was reminding Dariush that inside it was all him. Barboza with a big combo right off, two shots to the head, adn now Dariush comes in and each man lands big shots! Barboza's shots were bigger, especially the kick to the body. Dariush gets his legs back into it, lands a couple of kicks before popping errant with a superman punch. Barboza rolling, and Dariush grabs a single leg. Barboza defends it, spins out, and crowd likes it. Barboza dancing around, and he's feeling good. Dariush socks him with a right hand, and then a shot to the body. Inside leg kick from Barboza. Huge uppercut misses from Dariush. Leg kick from Barboza, and Dariush returns the same. Now it looks like Dariush took a low shot, and there's a halt to the action for him to recover. It was a right hand right to the cup. He's okay, though, and they are back. Perfectly times knee from Dariush lands as Barboza comes in! That didn't seem to faze him. And right as Dariush comes in with a punch, Barboza lands a flying knee flush! Dariush is out cold! What a finish. Another crazy ass finish for Barboza. Just blasted that knee right through Dariush, and that's it.
