Bellator’s MMA and kickboxing world titles will be on the line this spring in Hungary. The news was announced by the promotion Wednesday.
The promotion will be hosting Bellator 177 and Bellator Kickboxing 6 on April 14 at the Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary. This will be the second trip Bellator has taken to Hungary, as the promotion held Bellator Kickboxing 3 in Budapest back in September.
On the MMA card, bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas will be defending his belt against Darrion Caldwell. This will be Dantas’ second title defense since regaining his world title back in June, defeating then champion Marcos Galvao at Bellator 156. The Brazilian made his first defense against Joe Warren last December, winning a majority decision. Meanwhile, Caldwell is coming off a win against Joe Taimanglo also in December. That fight was a rematch, as Caldwell suffered a surprising defeat to Taimanglo earlier in the year, his first professional loss.
Bellator 177 will also feature a featherweight bout between Hungarian-born Adam Borics and Anthony Taylor.
In the main event of Bellator Kickboxing 6, Zoltan Laszak will defend his welterweight title in a rematch against Karim Ghajji. The two fought last year in Budapest, where Laszak was able to take the belt from Ghajji. Since, Ghajji earned a decision win over Luca Novello at Bellator 168 in Italy, and now hopes to regain his welterweight title.
