One of the top prospects in MMA is set for his UFC debut.
French star Tom Duquesnoy will meet Patrick Williams at UFC on FOX 24 on April 14 in Kansas City, UFC France announced Tuesday morning.
Duquesnoy (13-1, 1 NC) is a former BAMMA two-weight champion, much like Conor McGregor was in another European promotion, Cage Warriors. Duquesnoy, 23, held both the bantamweight and featherweight titles. The Lens, France native has only one loss in his MMA career, to UFC featherweight fighter Makwan Amirkhani in 2013. Duquesnoy, who trains out of JacksonWink MMA, is coming off a second-round submission over Alan Philpott in December at BAMMA 27.
Williams (8-4) has not fought since defeating Alejandro Perez via submission in just 23 seconds at UFC 188 in June 2015. The Florida native has won three of his last four fights. Williams, 35, is a former wrestling star at Arizona State.
No main event has been made official yet for UFC on FOX 24, which will take place at the Sprint Center. A women’s strawweight contender bout between Michelle Waterson and Rose Namajunas is on the docket, as well as a flyweight bout between Tim Elliott and Louis Smolka.
