Today on the podcast, we'll close the book on the not-so-great event that was UFC 208. What can we say about the future of Holly Holm, women's featherweight, Anderson Silva and the middleweight division? We'll try to unpack the bigger elements at play.

We'll also look ahead to two of this weekend's big MMA events. Bellator brings back Fedor Emelianenko on Saturday night in San Jose while the UFC returns to Canada with a semi-interesting card of reasonably important fights. Nothing on either card is of earth-shattering importance, but they could end up being better than expected as far as entertainment is concerned.

Speaking of which, the rumor mill for Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor is busy. The latest comes from leaks or merely attempts to stay visible from both sides, although there appears to be no truth value to any of the recent reports, anyway. Perhaps more importantly: there's no contract, which is the only real stumbling block that matters.
