A major strawweight match-up will highlight the UFC’s next appearance on FOX, as Rose Namajunas and Michelle Waterson are slated to square off on April 15 in Kansas City, Mo., at UFC on FOX 24.

The UFC announced the booking during Saturday night’s broadcast of UFC 208.

Namajunas (5-3) has been out of action since dropping a split decision to Karolina Kowalkiewicz in a strawweight title eliminator last July. The loss snapped a three-fight win streak for Namajunas — a run of success that saw the one-time title challenger submit Angela Hill and Paige VanZant, then avenge a prior loss by defeating Tecia Torres via unanimous decision. Namajunas is currently the No. 5 ranked strawweight on the UFC’s media-generated rankings.

She’ll now look to get back on track against Waterson (14-4), the former Invicta FC atomweight champion who picked up a massive first-round submission win over VanZant in the headlining bout of UFC on FOX 22 last December. Prior to that, Waterson defeated Angela Magana via third-round submission in her July 2015 UFC debut. Waterson is currently the No. 7 ranked strawweight under the UFC umbrella.

In addition to Namajunas-Waterson, a trio of a new match-ups were also announced for UFC on FOX 24. Those fights include a battle between ranked flyweights Tim Elliot (13-7-1) and Louis Smolka (11-3), a light heavyweight tilt between Devin Clark (7-1) and Jake Collier (10-3), and a middleweight collision between Anthony Smith (26-12) and Andrew Sanchez (9-2).

UFC on FOX 24 takes place April 15 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The main card will air live on FOX.
