For the better part of two rounds on Saturday night, the crowd at T-Mobile Arena did not enjoy the lightweight bout between Dan Hooker and Marc Diakiese. The Las Vegas fans restlessly jeered the lack of action between the two.

But then Hooker got the fans on his side in a hurry. The New Zealander used a super slick guillotine choke to win their UFC 219 fight at the 0:42 mark of the second round.

“I won the first, won the second and finished him in the third,” Hooker said. “I don’t think there’s anything more you can do, you know.”

Hooker has proven to be a finisher in his career, as 14 of his 16 career wins have come inside the distance. It was also his seventh career submission victory.

“That’s just one of my chokes, I’ve got a few of them,” Hooker (16-7) said. “You’ve got to watch your neck around me.”

Diakiese’s second straight loss dropped him to 12-2.
