Once upon a time, Myles Jury was an undefeated hotshot out of San Diego’s Alliance MMA, winning his first six fights in the UFC.
Then things took a bit of a turn. Jury lost his momentum in the cage with a pair of losses and bounced from camp to camp.
But now Jury is back with Alliance and back to looking like the fighter we remember.
Jury outclassed former World Series of Fighting featherweight champion Rick Glenn on Saturday night at UFC 219. Jury dominated both the standup and the ground work in a unanimous decision victory. The judges’ scores at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas 30-27 across the board.
The opening round told the story of the fight, as Glenn tried to move forward, only to get hit with counters, including a nice running knee. When the bout hit the floor, Jury won the scrambles and hunted for submissions.
That pattern turned into a rinse and repeat over the final two rounds. Jury never came close to a finish, but nor did Glenn ever mount a threat.
With the victory, Jury improved to 17-2 and won his second consecutive fight. Glenn (20-5-1), out of Team Alpha Male, had a two-fight win streak snapped.
