Daniel Cormier pokes fun at UFC 214 memes, ‘been doing this crying since I was a kid’

Daniel Cormier has seen the memes. And he’s not letting them get to him.

In the UFC 214 main event this past July, Cormier got his long-awaited rematch with rival Jon Jones and it ended in ugly fashion for the defending champion as Jones felled him with a head kick in the third round to regain his undisputed status as the light heavyweight king (a status Jones would later lose after being flagged for a second USADA violation, causing the title to revert back to Cormier and the win to be changed to a no-contest).

Cormier was in tears after the fight and the image of his crying face spread across the MMA social media landscape like wildfire.

On Friday, “DC” put up an Instagram post addressing the popular meme, laughing off the attention that his emotional outburst received:

The message is accompanied by a photo of Cormier receiving a runner’s up award at an old wrestling competition.

“What can I say,” Cormier wrote. “I hate losing.”
