Is Rafael dos Anjos the next man up at welterweight? He certainly made a convincing case for it on Saturday night.
Dos Anjos, the former UFC lightweight champion, put on a masterclass performance against Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC on FOX 26, sweeping the judges’ scorecards to win a lopsided decision over the former 170-pound king. Dos Anjos’ victory capped off an action-packed card in Winnipeg that also saw featherweight up-and-comer Josh Emmett score a highlight-reel upset over Ricardo Lamas, and Santiago Ponzinibbio win a barnburner over fan-favorite Mike Perry.
