This is the UFC on FOX 26 live blog for Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Mike Perry, a welterweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Canada.

Ponzinibbio, who has won five straight fights, will face Perry, who has knocked out four of his five UFC opponents, on the main card.

Round 1: This welterweight bout will be overseen by Yves Lavigne. No glove touch. Both fighters feeling each other out in the first 30 seconds. Perry lands a body kick. Ponzinibbio just flicking a jab. Leg kick by Ponzinibbio. Perry jabs Ponzinibbio in the body, he’s trying to cut off the cage. Cautious approach on both sides. Leg kick by Ponzinibbio and Perry whiffs on an overhand right. Perry connects with a right, Ponzinibbio slips and recovers almost immediately. Ponzinibbio still probing with his left hand as Perry walks him down. Another body kick by Perry and he hits Ponzinibbio with a right hand that has he BRazilian retreating. Perry pushing forward, Ponzinibbio lands a spinning attack that leads into the action briefly going to the mat. Sloppy exchange and they reset back in the middle of the cage. Perry with the jab now, Ponzinibbio responds with a 1-2 combo.

Round 2: Lots of head movement from Perry, he’s starting to throw more power right hands. Ponzinibbio still finding success with the leg kicks. Perry drives in and pushes him against the fence, but they separate. Blood over Perry’s right eye, unclear whether it was from a punch or a poke. Perry gets in again and he drags Ponzinibbio down with a body lock. Ponzibbio stands back up. Jabs by Ponzinibbio, then another leg kick. He’s touching Perry up with punches now. Another leg kick and Perry’s stance is visibly affected. Counter right by Ponzinibbio, he cranks up the volume and causes Perry to back up. Perry throwing back, but not landing. Left hook by Ponzinibbio hurts Perry and he’s covering up against the fence. He looks to be recovered and connects with a punch of his own right on Ponzinibbio’s chin. Ponzinibbio the aggressor now and he’s consistently connecting with straight punches. Leg kicks are keeping Perry off balance. Perry marches forward with heavy leather, Ponzinibbio slips away. Several punches land for Ponzinibbio at the close of Round 2.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9, Ponzinibbio. Overall, 19-19.

Round 3: Perry still looking for power shots in the opening minute of Round 3. He connects with a spinning elbow, but Ponzinibbio’s chin is holding up. More leg kicks from Ponzinibbio slow Perry down. The jab is also still working for Ponzinibbio. Spinning backfist from Ponzinibbio drops Perry as he comes in. As Perry stands, Ponzinibbio manages to secure a takedown and keep him pinned against the cage. He lands a punch and then drops Perry down again. Perry slips out and suddenly he has back control with both men back on their feet. Just over two minutes to go. Ponzinibbio’s jab is landing, he opens up and hits another 1-2 with Perry against the cage. A tiring Perry is taken down again and Ponzinibbio passes into half guard. Not much action here, but Ponzinibbio is completely in control of Perry’s head from top position as Perry sits up against the cage. Perry explodes up with less than 30 seconds left in the round. Ponzinibbio just unloading on him now with punches and a head kick.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9, Ponzinibbio. Overall, 29-28 Ponzinibbio.
