UFC on FOX 26 live blog: Glover Teixeira vs. Misha Cirkunov

This is the UFC on FOX 26 live blog for Glover Teixeira vs. Misha Cirkunov, a light heavyweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Canada.

Teixeira, a one-time title contender with four wins in his past six fights, will face Cirkunov, who finished four of his five UFC opponents, on the main card.

Round 1: Dan Miragliotta in the cage to oversee the evening’s main card opener. Cirkunov quickly takes the center of the Octagon. Good body kick by Cirkunov. Then a straight left. Teixeira answers with a jab, some short glancing punches up top. Knee up the middle by Cirkunov. Neither man afraid to throw early. Cirkunov comes forward with punches and backs Teixiera up against the cage. Some more punches get through and he just whiffs on a head kick as they separate. Teixeira wrestles Cirkunov down and he’s working to take the back. Rear-naked choke is on the chin, but Teixeira is working to finish. He lets go of the choke and flattens Cirkunov out. Teixeira is mounted on Cirkunov’s back and he pounds on Cirkunov until the bout is waved off. Teixeira heads over to cageside to have some words with UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, who is at the commentary desk.
