Mara Romero Borella vs. Katlyn Chookagian added to UFC on FOX 27

Mara Romero Borella has a date and an opponent for her second fight in the UFC.

The 31-year-old fighter will be taking on Katlyn Chookagian in a flyweight contest at UFC on FOX 27. UFC Español recently announced the booking.

Romero Borella last fought at UFC 216 where she submitted Kalindra Faria in the first round. The performance at UFC 216 marked Romero Borella’s Octagon debut. The American Top Team product is currently 11-4 as a professional MMA fighter and rides a six-fight win streak. Romero Borella is ranked eighth in the women’s UFC 125-pound rankings.

Meanwhile, Chookagian is coming off a split-decision win over Irene Aldana at UFC 210 back in April. Chookagian is 9-1 in her MMA career with her lone loss coming to former title challenger Liz Carmouche. This fight will be Chookagian’s UFC flyweight debut.

UFC on FOX 27 is being headlined by top middleweights Ronaldo Souza and Derek Brunson. The event is set to go down on Jan. 27 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C.
