UFC Fresno bonuses: Brian Ortega wins $100,000 for second-round finish

MMA: UFC Fight Night-Fresno-Swanson vs Ortega Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Brian Ortega scored an impressive victory in Fresno, and was rewarded with an extra $100,000 for it.

“T-City” met Cub Swanson in the main event of the UFC Fight Night card in Fresno, Calif., on Saturday night, and tapped the veteran with a standing guillotine in the second round.

Ortega, who improved to 13-0 in MMA with his fifth straight stoppage victory in the UFC, pocketed two bonuses, Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night, the UFC announced. Swanson, who became a free agent after UFC Fresno, cashed an extra $50,000 in defeat.

Returning to the Octagon just four weeks after scoring a close decision win over John Dodson, Marlon Moraes made quick work of Aljamain Sterling in a bantamweight bout, knocking “The Funkmaster" out cold with a vicious knee in just 67 seconds and earning $50,000 extra for his performance.
