Gabi Garcia posted on social media on Thursday saying she had been assaulted by a fan on the streets of downtown Los Angeles.
The 32-year-old world champion jiu-jitsu player said she went to LA on Wednesday to complete medical work for a her upcoming RIZIN bout on Dec. 31 in Tokyo.
On a streaming video post, Garcia said she entered an office building to take care of MRI work. After she was finished, a man was waiting and attempted to goad her into an altercation.
Garcia said the man dared her to punch him in the face, and when she wouldn’t take the bait, the man assaulted her, kicking her in the legs. Later in the stream, Garcia showed a bruise on her leg purportedly from the altercation.
As of Thursday afternoon, there was no incident report filed with the Los Angeles Police Department.
