A middleweight clash between Thiago Santos and Anthony Smith was booked for UFC Belem, multiple sources confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report by Combate.

UFC Belem is scheduled for Feb. 3 at the Mangueirinho Gymnasium in Belem, Brazil.

Both fighters are coming off three straight knockouts wins and have recently earned a Performance of the Night bonus. Santos (16-5) stopped Jack Marshman, Gerald Meerschaert and Jack Hermansson in his last UFC appearances, while Smith (28-12) finished Hector Lombard, Andrew Sanchez and Elvis Mutapcic dating back to Dec. 2016.

Smith only fought once outside of the United States throughout his 40-fight MMA career, when he took on Antonio Braga Neto in Fortaleza, Brazil, in his first UFC run in 2013. “Lionheart" lost that bout via submission.

The promotion has yet to announce a main event for its first trip to Belem.
