Ray Borg has a date and opponent for his next UFC bout.
The 24-year-old fighter will be taking on Mexico’s Brandon Moreno in a flyweight contest at UFC Austin. The event is set to take place on Feb. 18 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. The news was announced by the promotion on Friday.
Borg last fought at UFC 216, where he suffered a submission loss to flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson. Prior to that, Borg was on a two-fight win streak with decision victories over Louis Smolka and Jussier Formiga. Borg is 11-2 as a professional fighter and trains at JacksonWink in Albuquerque, N.M.
Moreno will also be looking to bounce back from a loss. The 23-year-old fighter was outpointed by Sergio Pettis in the main event of UFC Mexico City (UFC Fight Night 114) back in August. The loss to Pettis snapped an 11-fight win streak for Moreno. “The Assassin Baby” 14-3 in his MMA career, and trains out of Entram Gym in Tijuana, Mexico.
