Liam McGeary suffers injury, Bellator 185 bout with Bubba McDaniel canceled

Bellator 185 has lost one of its major bouts.

Former Bellator light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary has suffered an undisclosed injury, thus canceling his fight with late replacement Bubba McDaniel. The news was reported on Monday by MMA Junkie and was later confirmed by MMA Fighting.

With McGeary vs. McDaniel out of the event, the promotion promoted a women’s flyweight bout between Ana Julaton and Lisa Blaine to the main card.

Bellator 185 is set to take place on Oct. 20 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Former UFC middleweight contender Gegard Mousasi will take on ex-Bellator champ Alexander Shlemenko in the headlining slot.
