Newly crowned UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson was the top earner at UFC 216, serving as one of five fighters to clear the six-figure mark in earnings for his performance on Saturday night. The Nevada Athletic Commission released the event’s finalized salary information this weekend to MMA Fighting.
Ferguson defeated Kevin Lee with a third-round triangle choke to capture the UFC interim lightweight title in the night’s main event. “El Cucuy” cashed a $500,000 purse for his performance, while Lee earned $250,000 in a losing effort.
UFC 216 took place Oct. 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The night’s main card aired live on pay-per-view.
The three other UFC 216 fighters who cleared the six-figure mark in earnings were: Fabricio Werdum ($400,000); UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson ($370,000), who broke Anderson Silva’s all-time record for consecutive UFC title defenses; and Ray Borg ($100,000).
Notably, heavyweight veteran Mark Godbeer — whose fight against Walt Harris was canceled hours before the event — was paid his $15,000 show purse and $15,000 win purse despite not competing, per NAC officials.
A complete list of the UFC 216 salaries can be seen below. As always, these figures do not represent a fighter's total earnings, as certain sponsorship incomes, pay-per-view earnings or discretionary bonuses are not publicly disclosed.
