Round 1: Herb Dean in the Octagon to officiate this five-round championship bout. Ferguson with unorthodox movement to start, Lee in a more traditional stance. Lee connects first with a 1-2 combination. He slips coming in after Ferguson connects with a leg kick, but quickly recovers. It looks like Ferguson may have been caught by a kick, but he hurts Lee coming in. Ferguson touching his eye, unclear if it was as a result of the kick or an eye poke. Body lock takedown by Lee, Ferguson scrambles quickly and he’s trying for a triangle choke. Lee sneaks out, and spins around to get on top with his arm still trapped by Ferguson’s legs. The arm gets free and Lee is in full guard. Ferguson staying active from the bottom. North-south position for Lee. Full mount now. Hard shots and elbows from top position, less than 30 seconds left in the round. He’s unloading, but Ferguson escapes just as the buzzer sounds. Very late punch from Lee afterwards.

Round 2: Ferguson connects with a right hand. He’s maintaining the unorthodox side-to-side movement and it looks like Lee is having some difficulty figuring it out. Ferguson easily avoids a takedown. Ferguson with the volume advantage midway through the second round. Kick to the body by Lee. Ferguson steps in with an elbow that catches Lee right in the face. His nose is bloodied. They’re trading straight punches now. Another kick to the body by Lee. He gets a body lock, but Ferguson blocks the takedown attempt. Jab is working for Ferguson. He lands a solid punch at the buzzer.

Round 3: Lee gets a body lock early and connects with a big slam. Dean has to warn Ferguson not to grab the fence as Lee pins him down against the cage. Ferguson gets his feet on Lee’s hips and pushes him off to get this fight back to the feet. “El Cucuy” walking forward, not throwing much of note. Lee explodes for another takedown. Ferguson attacks with an armbar, but Lee manages to step over. He’s back in Ferguson’s full guard. Triangle choke attempt by Ferguson. Lee taps and Ferguson has won the UFC interim lightweight championship.
