Mark Godbeer has every right to feel disappointed about losing his spot on UFC 216 at the last minute, but the English heavyweight sounds like he’s in good spirits.
After back problems forced Derrick Lewis to withdraw from his bout opposite Fabricio Werdum at Saturday’s event in Las Vegas just hours before they were set to fight on the main card, Walt Harris was called up from the preliminaries in to replace Lewis.
However, that meant Harris’s original opponent Mark Godbeer was left out in the cold.
Godbeer took to social media to say that he has no ill will towards the UFC or Harris for the way the situation unfolded, while also subtly campaigning for a spot at UFC 217, which takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Nov. 4:
