Video: Jan Blachowicz uses standing choke to submit Devin Clark

New, comments

Jan Blachowicz’s win at UFC Gdansk answered any questions about his ground game.

Well, sort of.

The Polish light heavyweight brought the fans at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk to their feet with a second-round submission of Devin Clark that saw Blachowicz secure a standing choke that looked more like a professional wrestling sleeperhold than a technique befitting Blachowicz’s Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.

Regardless, it proved to be effective as Clark frantically tapped out to avoid being sent to dreamland.

This was Blachowicz’s eighth career submission win, though just his first since May 2011. He snaps a two-fight losing streak and improves to 3-4 in the UFC and 20-7 overall.

Clark loses by submission for the first time in 10 pro bouts.
