Valerie Letourneau is going to make her Bellator debut before the year is through.
On Wednesday, officials confirmed to MMA Fighting that Letourneau will fight Kate Jackson in a flyweight bout at a joint Bellator/BAMMA show on Dec. 15 at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England. The bout was first reported by MMAUNO.com.
This will be the second time the matchmakers have tried to get Letourneau in the Bellator cage this year. Letourneau was scheduled to fight Emily Ducote in July at Bellator 181, but an injury forced the one-time UFC strawweight title challenger out just four days before the event.
Letourneau (8-6) signed with Bellator this past April after compiling a 3-3 record in the UFC that included wins over Maryna Moroz, Jessica Rakoczy, and Elizabeth Phillips, and a title fight loss to Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 193. She is making a move up to 125 pounds after having difficulties with the 115-pound limit in the past.
A semifinalist on The Ultimate Fighter 23, Jackson (9-2-1) is undefeated in her past six professional bouts including a win in her Bellator debut in August against Colleen Schneider. The 31-year-old Englishwoman won via TKO after Schneider suffered a knee injury and was ruled ineligible to continue in between the first and second rounds.
