The UFC announced a pair of bouts to its upcoming event in Brazil.
Bethe Correia and Marion Reneau will collide in the UFC’s return to Fortaleza, Brazil, on March 11. Alex Nicholson will face UFC newcomer Paulo Henrique Costa in a middleweight contest. The promotion announced the match-ups on Tuesday.
Correia (10-2) competes in Brazil for the first time since her first career loss to Ronda Rousey in 2015. “Pitbull”, who enters the Octagon coming off a split-decision win over Jessica Eye, was 6-0 in her native country prior to UFC 190.
Reneau (7-3) also bounced back from two straight losses with a victory in her last bout. After suffering defeats to future champion Holly Holm and Ashlee Evans-Smith, the 39-year-old bantamweight finished Milana Dudieva in November.
Nicholson (7-3) is 1-1 since dropping to the middleweight division. In his 185-pound debut, “Spartan" finished Devin Clark in the opening round in July, but lost a decision to Sam Alvey four months later.
Costa (8-0), a member of Team Sonnen’s at TUF: Brazil 3, earns his first chance in the UFC after capturing and defending the Jungle Fight middleweight championship in 2016.
Headlined by Vitor Belfort vs. Kelvin Gastelum, UFC Fight Night 106 also features Edson Barboza vs. Beneil Dariush and Mauricio Rua vs. Gian Villante.
