UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Penn took place Jan. 15 at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. Highly-touted featherweight prospect Yair Rodriguez (10-1) took on UFC Hall of Famer B.J. Penn (16-11-2) in the night's main event, which aired live on FOX Sports 1. Catch the video highlights above.

Round 1: The main event. Been nearly 1,000 days since B.J. Penn last fought. He got a huge pop in Phoenix during the introductions. John McCarthy is the third man in this fight.They touched gloves. Penn took center, and a body kick from Yair right off. Penn snaps forward, and he grabs a single leg and puts Rodriguez on the fence. That brings a sudden rise from the crowd. And now he's slamming Rodriguez with right hands while with the underhooks. They break. Rodriguez to center ,and Penn again rolls in hard with a sally, and Rodriguez with a kick — now another. Knee to the body from Rodriguez, and Penn closes up quick and tries a knee to the head. Misses. They exchange in the middle, and Penn lands a right hand flush. They clinch and Penn sneaks in a couple of shots. Penn takes a head kick, partially blocked perhaps, and then another. A couple of long shots from Rodriguez, who is completely poised. Now Rodriguez flings Penn down momentarily. Penn on his bicycle, rolling around, and Rodriguez is stalking. Everything looks like a bulls-eye to that striker. Penn takes a side kick to the body and that sends Penn back. Now a massive head kick from Rodriguez that lands, and Penn eats it. Penn fires off a big right hand and lands. Now Rodriguez landing kicks on the fence, and to the body, to the head — Penn got his hands down and is taking those. Another left kick up top. Speed discrepancy is noticeable. Rodriguez taunts as Penn lands an uppercut. Rodriguez starting to heat up pretty big here, as round ends. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Rodriguez, 10-9.Round 2: Big shot from Rodriguez, and that drops Penn! Right hand. Now Rodriguez and he's throwing bombs.
