Alexander Gustafsson's time as the headliner for UFC Fight Night 100 didn't last very long.
Gustafsson is out of the main event fight with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira due to an undisclosed injury, sources told MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani. In Gustafsson's place will step fellow light heavyweight contender Ryan Bader for a rematch. UFN 100 is scheduled for Nov. 19 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Bader (21-5) is fresh off a devastating second-round knockout of Ilir Latifi earlier this month in Germany. The Arizona native has won six of his last seven fights with a first-round knockout loss to Anthony Johnson at UFC on FOX 18 in January the lone recent blemish. Bader, 33, beat Nogueira at UFC 119 in 2010 by unanimous decision.
Nogueira (22-7) is coming off a first-round TKO win over Patrick Cummins at UFC 198 in May. The Brazilian legend has been a pro MMA fighter for 15 years. Nogueira, now 40 years old, has won three of his last five fights.
Gustafsson (17-4), the former top 205-pound title challenger, beat Jan Blachowicz in Germany by unanimous decision to snap a two-fight losing streak.
