Derek Brunson gets quick turnaround, faces Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Night 101

Derek Brunson did not waste any time getting his next fight booked.

Fresh off his first-round TKO of Uriah Hall just four days ago, Brunson will take on Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Night: Rockhold vs. Jacare on Nov. 27 in Melbourne, Australia, the UFC announced Wednesday.

Brunson (16-3) has won four in a row by first-round knockout and five straight overall. He finished Hall in just 1:41 at UFC Fight Night: Johnson vs. Poirier in Hidalgo, Texas. Brunson, 32, has not lost since falling to Yoel Romero in 2014.

Whittaker (16-4) has won five straight, the latest a unanimous decision victory over Rafael Natal at UFC 197 in April. The New Zealand native also has not lost since 2014, nor since he moved up to middleweight later that year. Whittaker, 25, is currently one of the best young fighters in the division.

UFC Fight Night 101 is headlined by a middleweight contender bout between Luke Rockhold and Ronaldo Souza. It'll be the promotion's second trip to Melbourne after its inaugural show there in Australia's sports capital, UFC 193 in November 2015.
