It didn't take long for Donald Cerrone to find a new opponent for UFC 205.
According to multiple sources, Cerrone vs. Kelvin Gastelum is in the works for the Nov. 12 card at Madison Square Garden in New York City. If all goes according to plan, the welterweight fight is expected to be finalized shortly.
Cerrone (31-7, 1 NC) agreed to fight Robbie Lawler at UFC 205, however, Lawler withdrew from the fight late last week after deciding he needed more time off following his July knockout loss to Tyron Woodley.
Since moving up to 170 pounds, Cerrone is a perfect 3-0 this year, most recently defeating Rick Story last month at UFC 202.
Gastelum (12-2) got back on track in July with a unanimous decision win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 200. He was originally scheduled to fight Jorge Masvidal Nov. 5 in Mexico City, so the UFC is now working on finding Masvidal a new opponent.
While less than two months away, the UFC has yet to finalize a main event for its historic first show at MSG.
